Egregious Corruption Threatens More Than Clean Air Protections
Just over one year after Trump met privately with oil industry executives and requested $1 billion worth of contributions to his campaign, the Trump Regime is returning the favor, enacting Big Oil’s agenda and erasing environmental protections. Across the country, including here in Oregon, organizations are working together to put a stop to this egregious corruption.

TAKING A STAND AGAINST CORRUPTION
WHAT'S HAPPENING: Big Oil got a massive gift from the Trump Regime’s Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin, who in recent weeks announced plans to eliminate the regulation of climate and public health protections, including vehicle pollution standards.
For everyday people, this would be a disaster for our health, our climate, and our ability to breathe clean air. For Big Oil, the erasure of pollution limits would allow them to ignore the public health impacts of fossil fuels in the name of corporate profits.
But this is about more than clean air protections. Right now, corruption is thriving because an authoritarian ruler and wealthy corporations share the same goal: maximizing their own profits, no matter the cost to everyday Americans.
As a reminder, this decision by the Trump Regime follows a private dinner between Trump and oil industry executives last year during which he reportedly requested $1 billion worth of campaign contributions. Big Oil delivered, donating $445 million last year alone. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics has also reported that members of the Trump Regime hold around $2.25 million in Big Oil stocks.
Most of us believe that corruption has no place in our democracy. That’s why it’s critical that we raise our voices today to protect clean air and reject corruption.

PROTECTING VOTER DATA
WHAT'S HAPPENING: The State of Oregon administers free and fair vote-by-mail elections, not the federal government. Yet last month, the Trump Regime’s Department of Justice requested sensitive voter data from states. This week, Oregon’s Secretary of State responded, rejecting attempts to obtain Oregonians’ personal data and affirming Oregon’s oversight of our state elections.

This pushback is a reminder that we, the people, and the politicians we elect here in Oregon have the power to fight back and defend our constitutional rights.
