JUN. 7

Trump issues a memorandum authorizing federalization of National Guard & active-duty forces for Los Angeles, California.

JUL. 15

Trump ends deployment for about half of the troops stationed in Los Angeles.

Aug. 11

Trump signs an executive order initiating a “30 -Day Takeover” of Washington, D.C. Police by the Federal Government. Deployment began immediately that day.

Sep. 2

Trump says he plans to send troops to Chicago, Illinois. (No deployment has occurred yet.)

Sep. 5

Trump talks in a press conference about the possibility of deploying troops to Portland, OR. (No formal plans to do so have been announced at this time.)

Sep. 10

“30-Day Takeover” in Washington, D.C. technically ends, but National Guard Troops remain deployed.

Sep. 12

Trump announces he will deploy troops to Memphis, Tennessee.

Sep. 15

Trump signs an order sending federal troops to Memphis.

SEP. 19

Trump again threatens to do something "very soon" in Oregon.

Sep. 25

Trump makes false and inflammatory statements about Portland, escalating threats against our communities in Oregon.

SEP. 27

President Trump announces that he will be authorizing military to use ‘Full Force’ in Oregon.

SEP. 28

More than 2,000 Oregonians peacefully protest at Waterfront Park in Portland.

Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield and the City of Portland file a lawsuit to block Trump’s deployment of federal forces.

SEP. 29

The State of Oregon and the City of Portland file a motion for a temporary restraining order (TRO) in their lawsuit, which asks the court to block Trump's order that places Oregon’s National Guard under his command and restore our National Guard under state command.

Oct. 4

 A federal judge grants Oregon’s temporary restraining order, blocking Trump from sending Oregon National Guard troops to Portland.

Oct. 5

Trump sends California National Guard to Oregon. The State of California joins Oregon’s lawsuit against the Trump administration.

Oct. 5

Federal judge issues order temporarily prohibiting the president from deploying any federalized members of any state’s National Guard to Oregon.

Oct. 8

A three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals stays the Oct. 4th restraining order, effectively allowing members of the Oregon National Guard to remain under Federal control.

Oct. 20

Two members of a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals issue a ruling that could clear the way for the Trump Administration to take control of 200 members of Oregon’s National Guard for potential deployment to the ICE office in Southwest Portland. A larger panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals could reconsider the decision.
