Have you checked your voter registration status?
Are you ready to vote in the May election? The deadline to register to vote is this coming Tuesday, April 29. You have the power this May to protect Oregon schools from the discriminatory and hateful policies of our extremist federal government.
PROTECTING NONPROFITS
WHAT'S HAPPENING: In his latest attempt to dismantle the critical services working families rely on, Trump has repeatedly threatened the future of nonprofit organizations.
In the past few months, Trump and Elon Musk have made organizations like USAID and AmeriCorps – largely volunteer-based organizations that help people recover from disaster, build new housing, and contribute to economic growth worldwide – almost completely nonfunctioning by slashing federal employees and cutting off access to critical grants and loans. Trump and the unelected billionaires seemingly running our country have also halted millions of dollars that the Oregon Food Bank relies on to help feed Oregonians most in need. They aren’t stopping there.
Now, the administration continues to threaten the nonprofit status of organizations he disagrees with — including his most recent target: environmental organizations working to protect our air and water and make our communities more resilient. Make no mistake, the threat Trump poses to nonprofits is not happening in a vacuum. This is part of Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s ongoing attack on working families and anyone or any group they deem a political enemy.
Nonprofit organizations serve our communities, especially vulnerable populations. These attacks are not only reprehensible but also a violation of our fundamental freedoms.

PROTECTING OREGON SCHOOLS
WHAT'S HAPPENING: This Tuesday, April 29 is the last day to register to vote in school board elections happening across Oregon on May 20.
Many of the attacks the Trump administration has launched against diversity, equity, and inclusion policies – including banning books – started in school board meetings. We can’t allow our schools to be a proving ground for hateful and discriminatory policies. Check your voter registration today and make sure you’re ready to vote this May!

FIGHTING BACK AGAINST TRUMP'S TARIFFS
WHAT'S HAPPENING: In the wake of Donald Trump’s volatile on-again, off-again relationship with tariffs that threaten to crash our economy, Attorney General Dan Rayfield is leading a 12-state lawsuit to block Trump from unlawfully misusing emergency authority to single-handedly create new tariffs.
AG Rayfield compared Trump’s chaotic trade policy to “the whims of an angsty teenager” and said this was an “unprecedented misuse of emergency powers” — one that could devastate Oregon’s economy.
HOW WE'RE FIGHTING BACK:
Join AG Dan Rayfield and state lawmakers at a town hall in Bend on May 3, where they will discuss safeguarding Oregon’s future against federal chaos and threats.
